DAKINI POWER

What felt like lifetimes ago, I was an art teacher in West Philadelphia with early childhood and school age kids. It was more than an art teacher position though, really, as my supervisor graciously created a position for me to float between classrooms and facilitate projects each day amongst all ages. It was truly a gift. I had the unique pleasure of working with infants to middle schoolers and would create themed adventures for our summer afternoons. I had already established a deep romance with the Philadelphia Museum of Art – the first place I’d observed a thangka painting I would end up visiting over the next 8 years. It was a joy to be able to bring the kids to this special place and I’ll never forget how inspired they were to paint for weeks after our return. This seemingly normal day, however, led me on a rabbit hole to truly desire to understand the symbols in the thangka paintings. Prior to that I would just take them in. It’s only now making sense that I would end up collecting Dakini books and oracle cards, etc in more recent years. Fascinating how a particular moment in time strikes you and maybe you don’t even remember how poignant it was until years later.

Anyway, when I saw the ‘poster’ for this documentary, I was uncertain this was going to be what I was *hoping* for. Instead, upon viewing it, Dakini Code exceeded my perceptions (of course). Dakinis, are thought to be “sky walkers” in numerous traditions (Hinduism, Taoism, & Buddhism) who lead us through deeper states of consciousness, through the investigation of images found within our inner-most worlds, and dreams, we are thought to be able to access their wisdom. “Dakini power can be harnessed to transform energetic frequencies from negative to positive with the right techniques.” …..

All I can say is – WOW this doc is essential (imo) for anyone looking to connect with or better understand their Shakti (power)(divine feminine energy) and balancing yin/yang within themselves (regardless of biological gender). Also a must for anyone interested in mythical aspects of Eastern wisdom traditions. 10/10!
