Thai Massage is an Eastern approach to bodywork (originally one component of an entire system of “Buddhist medicine”) developed 2,500 years ago. Often referred to as ‘lazy man’s yoga’ as it is yoga ‘being done to you’. Thai massage incorporates deep pressure, joint mobilization, stretching, traction, acupressure, and compression. The practitioner uses elbows, knees, hands, and even feet to work the spaces between the muscle bellies aka the energy lines (”sen”) and also directly on the muscles themselves. Thai massage is traditionally practiced fully clothed and on a mat but can also be the foundation for table massage.

The body drift healing arts offers traditional Thai-style floor massage on Sundays. For floor sessions, please wear loose-fitting clothing. This is a more active type of session where you will be guided into various postures and stretches. In addition, Thai-style moves are incorporated within all table sessions for those who prefer direct / skin contact. This is sometimes referred to as “Table Thai Massage”. Both approaches (floor or table) are extremely effective in treating the body both physically & energetically. In addition to table or floor Thai, I also offer Thai-style heated herbal compress massage.
